What is Christian?
What is Christian?
(2 Corinthians 5:17 / John 3:3 / Matthew 16:16)

There is one question that is always asked by people attending church.
That is, “Am I a true Christian?”
If the answer is not certain, then the fundamentals of our religion, work in Christ, is all unclear.
So what is a “Christian”?
In 2nd Corinthians 5:17, it is written: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come.”
“Those in Christ” is of a “New Creation”.
Christian life style is fundamental essence is to being one with Christ Jesus.
A follower of Christ is often called a “Saint” in English Bibles. Saint and Christian is in term, the same thing.
However Roman Catholics add the title “Saint” when one is exemplary after the member had passed away. The Bible calls all those who are in Christ “Saint”. “Saint” is not added to those who had prayed a lot and is famous for it, nor is it to those who had spent their entire life in the monastery, or someone who had done multiple in passing the good news. Saints are those who are special sanctified people.
Why are we sanctified?
It is so that we would worship the Lord and be also his children. Being of holy is “agios” in Greek, “kadosh” in Hebrews. It is so that we are separated for something special. We are not “privileged” and “superb” because we can worship the Lord. It is because we are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, and through that we are declared “whiter than the snow” – that we are sanctified.
Moreover, we are to be workers into the Lord.
What is the lesson behind all this?
We commonly label someone attending church as a “Christian” does the bible say that also?
Absolutely not! Bible states that we are those “in Christ”. Those who have their foundation are in Christ, and those who have devoted their life’s meaning and believing in it. Those who live by that foundation are true Christian.
A Church is made of member who are reborn and to serve the Lord Jesus. By confessing that the “…the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16) the church can be built of those saints.
“Christians” are distinct to worship the Lord.
Are you a Christian?
