Pilgrim Vs. Wanderer
Pilgrim Vs. Wanderer

What is a Pilgrim?
How do they differ from wanderer?

A pilgrim’s path is solely focused on a goal, and no hindrance can stop the pilgrim’s path. His walk is with the foundation of faith, his eye is always on the target, and does not pay attention to petty things going around themselves. A pilgrim’s heart is not on the surroundings, but of the ultimate goal, ‘The Holy Land”.
As such, the pilgrim’s is not held back by the past, nor is looking at the current. He is solely focused only on the future’s path.
On the other hand is the wanderer. Their path is uncertain, and their goals are always changing on their mood. They live only on the current. They live for the mirage of money, power, and fame and other worldly things. Therefore their journey always ends in vain. After becoming Christians, one’s journey changes from wanderers to a pilgrim’s path.
One thing certain, a pilgrim’s life can be lonesome, and sometimes the path can be very uncertain. But by walking in faith, God give the courage and step by step, one can move forward with courage. In Genesis Chapter 12, Verse 1, there is a command that God gave to Abraham.
“Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go from your country, and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.”
Abraham in his advanced age, trusted the Lord and went on a pilgrim’s path. He started to journey in the vast unknown land, the path of a pilgrim.
He had become the man who follow the path the Lord showed daily.
For someone to go the uncertain path of pilgrim there is a must for the courage to do so
Am I a pilgrim? Or am I a wanderer?
