120 days spent on Early Morning QT total.

For the last 5 years and a month I used to write down the early morning Quite Time study materials. But after starting my website, I stopped and started to upload as forum postings instead.

Time goes, as the 5th year and 1st month pass. I had stopped uploading new Quite Time studies from the web. It was because in the time frame of studying, I would’ve uploaded from the Old Testament all the way to the New Testament which had become a huge study material for me.

There is an old Korean saying, “Collect the dusts like the large mountains.” Like said, I would wake up early in the morning to pray, then meditate upon the Word, then finish with a prayer. With all that minus the hour or so spent on prayers, about 120 days worth of Quite Time was uploaded. Usually when I read upon the Quite Time study materials, I would read about 2~3 times first on the verse of the day. After I would write down the summary of the verse, how God speaks to us, how it reflects upon our belief, and finally write out how it would apply to me in daily life basis. Usually it takes me about an hour and half or so to record everything down on computer.

To actually steadily meditate upon the word, there is a great requirement to have patience. Some days I would meditate a lot, and some were so familiar from my own sermons that I would give extra time to re-meditate and write it down – all which required a lot of care. It is so that I would become even more humble in front of the Word of God.

Through Missionary Sarah Berry in 1970, I learned how to have a steady time set for the Quite Time, and after I had finished teaching in school in 1976, I was working as a staff in Korean Scripture Union, and had lectured about the importance of the Bible and Quite Time. During my time as the Young Adult Bible Study class and Weekly Evening Bible Study Meeting for the Young Nak Presbyterian Church, I would shout the 3 No’s. “No Bible! No Breakfast! No Business!” After moving from Korea to United States, along with the Youth Born Again, and my planted churches, I had taught passionately to have substance in God’s Word daily with Quite Time and how necessary it was for life.

If one loves the Lord, to know him better, one should have an attitude like a new born baby suckling on a holy spirit’s milk. Also to have a properly answered prayer, having conversations with the Lord – if one does not know the meaning behind, then it would be just speaking nonsense. The Word should be the founding stone for the growth in spirit in fruit to labor, along with prayers, be obedient to the Lord so that he may be please and one would not only be blessed but be full of spirit, to be able to evangelize.

Now, I would like to examine myself to having a deeper meeting with Word, to grow even more maturity in the Lord. However, sometimes my own personal things will sometimes appear at times, so those will not be posted but have separate storage somewhere else.

5 years and 1 month is 1,855 days in total. Out of those days, a total of 120 days on early morning is not a small amount of time. The Lord made me awake early in the morning to give me the word, save me from my sins to be able to view the Word, I give thanks to the Lord that I was able to receive this grace for the past days and I give him of the best praise as well.
